Hero Siege Demonspawn Blood & Bone Build (Season 10) — S-Tier Bone Barrage

Demonspawn Blood & Bone is a cross-source consensus S-tier Arcane caster archetype for Hero Siege Season 10 Ebontharn — not a single skill. Three S10-dedicated sources map the same archetype three different ways, so this page presents them as a variant matrix with a shared endgame gear core.

60-second read. “Blood & Bone” is an archetype umbrella term for a Demonspawn Arcane caster running one of four interchangeable primary skills (Bone Barrage, Bone Storm, Bone Fragments, Blood Surge) around a shared Arcanist gear core ([F065]). Three S10-dedicated sources agree on the archetype but split on the main mapping / clear skill — MisterSleepyCat picks Bone Barrage, graxyguides picks Bone Storm, odealo (S9 baseline) picks Blood Surge. For single-target boss damage all three converge on Bone Fragments ([C012], [F055], [F061], [F064]).

Naming note. Vortex Gaming’s “Ban Barrage” is a typo of the in-game skill Bone Barrage (Demonspawn Lv 48 Bone Conjurer). herosiegebuilds’ “Blood & Bone” is the community umbrella term. All three names (“Ban Barrage” / “Blood Surge” / “Blood & Bone”) point at the same Arcane caster archetype in this build family ([F054]).

For why this archetype sits at cross-source consensus S-tier, see the Season 10 class tier list ([F049]).

Archetype overview

  • Primary damage — pick one ([F065]): Bone Barrage, Bone Storm, Bone Fragments, Blood Surge.
  • Shared support skills: Ominous Aura (Arcane damage aura), Impale + AoE sub-node early ([F057]), Blood Bolts as early / boss fallback ([F056]).
  • S10 vs S9: no meaningful endgame changes to the archetype in S10; only a Blood Bolts sub-skill swap noted ([F056]).

Shared endgame gear core across all three sources. Bone Fragments for boss single-target, Blood of Abaddon staff and Celestial’s Authority shield in the endgame set — that convergence is the safest anchor if you are choosing gear before you know which mapping skill you will run.

Skill selection decision tree

Because C012 (main-skill split) is unresolved, treat main-skill as an output of your gear tier and farm goal, not an input:

  • Levels 1–8: Impale with the AoE sub-node picked up ([F057]) or Blood Bolts as early damage ([F056]).
  • Levels 8–15 — want quick mapping now: shift to Bone Storm (graxyguides path).
  • Levels 15–40 — transition: Blood Bolts remains the boss-fight fallback if you stall out ([F056]).
  • Level 40+ once you are in endgame gear:
    • Own Blood of Abaddon staff + Arcanum Asphyxiators → run Blood Surge (odealo path).
    • No endgame staff yet, want chain-clear feel → run Bone Barrage (MisterSleepyCat path).
    • Want a stable mapping loadout with dedicated boss swap → run Bone Storm + Bone Fragments swap (graxyguides path).
  • Any boss single-target fight: swap to Bone Fragments (all three sources agree).

Stat and Incarnation

  • Attribute split at the 400-point milestone: 200 Intelligence + 200 Vitality ([F058]).
  • Incarnation Tree priorities: skill duration, cast speed, mana regen, leech acquisition ([F058]).
  • Rune plan late game: Sur stacking for mana pool ([F059]).

Gear progression (three-stage, graxyguides + MisterSleepyCat picks)

Fresh-100 stage ([F062]):

  • Skysong (off-hand), Damien’s Head, Rift Eye, Thor Set pieces.

Mid-progression stage ([F062]):

  • Blood of Abaddon (staff), Spell Eater, Celestial’s Authority (shield).

Endgame stage ([F062]):

  • Blood of Abaddon (staff), Beacon of Shadows, Celestial’s Authority (shield).

MisterSleepyCat’s endgame pool ([F059], parallel option): Iris / Sands of Time / Earth Shaper’s Talons / Celestus / Thor’s Battle Sword for weapons; Rift Eye or Skysong for off-hand; Witches Brimmed Hat or Curator of Secrets for head; Crown of Doom or Pearlescence as flavour picks.

Rotation and combat feel

Confirmed structure:

  1. Cast your chosen main skill from the matrix above.
  2. Keep Ominous Aura active as passive Arcane damage.
  3. Swap to Bone Fragments for single-target boss windows.

Coverage Gap — per-second rotation. No cross-source verified per-second cast order or buff-uptime cadence is published across the three S10 sources reviewed on 2026-08-23.

Wormhole performance (cross-source qualitative)

MisterSleepyCat explicitly labels this archetype “a top-tier caster” for endgame play, and cross-source consensus in the tier list puts it at S ([F049]). For the mechanical picture of Wormhole in S10 — including the S10 XP / loot rule change — see the Wormhole guide.

Coverage Gap — numeric benchmarks. No reliable cross-source numeric clear-time or gear-tier vs Wormhole-level benchmark is published for this archetype.

Common deaths and mitigation

Two-source convergence ([F060], [F063]):

  • Cause — no built-in teleport / mobility. Bone Fragments forces close-range engagement; without escape you eat boss telegraphs.
  • Cause — no built-in damage reduction. High FCR builds can also spike client lag at cap.
  • Mitigation — invest in mana shield and split attributes toward Vit ([F060]).
  • Mitigation — Quicksteps or Ghost boots to add movement speed ([F063]).
  • Mitigation — stack life and pick at least one defensive item ([F063]).

Mercenary

Coverage Gap — archetype-specific pick. All three S10 sources only give generic mercenary advice for this build. Use the Paladin page’s Knight (defensive) or Archer / Ranger (buff uptime) picks as a placeholder — this is a generic Hero Siege mercenary pattern, not a Blood & Bone-specific recommendation.
