Hero Siege Wormhole Guide (Season 10) — Unlock, Bosses, Loot

Season 10 Wormhole in Hero Siege Ebontharn is a ladder-race endgame: XP and loot are withheld until you kill the boss, and each successful run advances Wormhole level by +1 rather than up to +4. This guide compiles Steam's official Season 10 quote with pre-S10 baseline mechanics and cross-source community coverage.

60-second read. In Season 10, Wormhole is a ladder race ([F013] — Steam’s official S10 announcement): you get no XP or loot during a run, everything is deposited on boss kill, and Wormhole level always advances by exactly +1 per completed run. To run one: unlock at Inferno via Dr. Tinkerdink ([F034]) → clear the map inside 4 minutes ([F035]) → beat the boss for the accumulated reward and Wormhole-level advance. Anything you have seen tagged “S18” for Hero Siege is likely mislabelled — Season 10 Ebontharn launched 2026-08-21 ([F001], [F004]).

S10 vs pre-S10 — mechanical differences

The single most important thing to know for S10 is that the reward and pacing rules changed. Sources published before 2026-08-21 describe the pre-S10 model.

DimensionPre-S10 (community baseline)Season 10 (Steam-official)
XP / loot timingDropped continuously during the runDeposited only on boss kill ([F013])
Wormhole level increaseFast clear could grant up to +4 ([F012])Fixed +1 per completed run ([F013])
Failure penaltyNo rewardNo reward (unchanged)
Satanic-tier drops from bossYes ([F037])Yes ([F052] — mechanic changed, tier pool did not)

Not published as fact. A single-source u4gm post ([F013b]) describes death costing −1 Wormhole level, +5 “fast-clear” items and a 10% map-compression rule for S10. These are not included in this guide until a second source confirms them.

Unlock

  • Difficulty: Inferno ([F034]).
  • NPC: Dr. Tinkerdink, top-left of Inoya Village — interact to open the Wormhole ([F034]).
  • Character level: pre-S10 threshold was Level 100 on Inferno / Level 80 on Hell ([F038]). No Steam announcement for S10 changes this threshold, but no S10 source explicitly re-confirms it either — treat as pre-S10 baseline until S10 confirms.

Inside a Wormhole run

  • Time limit: clear the map inside 4 minutes to spawn the boss ([F035]).
  • Enemy level baseline: pre-S10 data shows Wormhole 1 monsters around Level 140 ([F012]) — labelled pre-S10 because no S10 source has published a refreshed scaling table.

Boss and rewards

  • Beating the boss opens the exit portal plus a mystery chest and, occasionally, a crystal chest ([F036]).
  • Drop pool: the boss has a chance to drop Satanic-tier items; deeper Wormholes add exclusive Satanic items, rare crafting runes, and end-of-season cosmetics ([F037], [F052]).
  • Ruby drops scale with Wormhole level ([F036]).

Boss naming — resolved as negative finding. Steam’s official S10 announcement and four independent sources (u4gm, mobalytics, Metaroad, ezg) do not name a specific S10 Wormhole boss ([F066]). This guide deliberately uses the generic term “Wormhole boss” and does not attribute Phantom Leviathan, Captain Grimtide or Blood Maiden to the Wormhole pool — those are Act IX content, not Wormhole.

Farm efficiency and cadence

  • The S10 rule shift (XP / loot only on boss kill, +1 per run) makes slow clears structurally worse: they cost more time per Wormhole-level tick than they used to ([F013]).
  • Historical data point: Satanic drop rate was increased 15% at a prior patch ([F039]), supporting the general read that fast-clear farming has been the intended play pattern.

Coverage Gap — drops per hour. No cross-source numeric benchmark for expected drops / hour or expected Satanic drops per Wormhole level is published for S10.

This page does not name a single “best” Wormhole class. Use the cross-source top picks:

Coverage Gap — S10-specific Wormhole-farming build. No source reviewed publishes a dedicated “best S10 Wormhole farmer” write-up beyond the general S10 tier list.

Terminology note — “Satanic mode”

“Satanic” is an item tier, not a map affix ([F052]). Any older guide labelling Wormhole itself as “Satanic mode” is using a pre-S10 shorthand that does not match the S10 mechanic; treat those references as tier-pool statements, not mode-selection statements.
